Important News: Gas Appliance Regulation (GAR)
On 21 April 2018 the Gas Appliances Directive (GAD) was withdrawn and replaced by the new Gas Appliance Regulation (GAR) for appliances burning gaseous fuels and fittings intended to be incorported within gas appliances. This move was made in order to clarify the requirements, increase the safety of products and force importers to make sure the products they introduce to the EU market are legal and safe. GAR gives any importer of gas appliances a status of manufacturer so they are responsible for compliance and safety of the products. In order to comply, Bonningtons have moved away from our former supplier who was compliant with GAD, but not GAR. All of our stock is now sourced from a manufacturer who tests to GAR. You can be assured that our Love Mud gas camping stove (code OLSTOVE) and gas cannisters (OLGAS) are therefore safe and legal, and in compliance with GAR.
